Job Summary
The Quantitative Strategies Group manages HighMark’s quantitative equity mutual funds and separately managed accounts. The group is looking for a Quantitative Analyst to assist in the day to day research and management of these funds and in the development of new mandates and enhancements of existing products. The successful applicant will report to the Director of Quantitative Strategies.
Major Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Quantitative Analyst include:
• Assisting with the development and implementation of new and existing quantitative equity strategies
• Maintaining the quantitative databases
• Participation in the portfolio management process
• Providing analytical support to all HighMark portfolio management teams
Aptitudes
Requirements
• An advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Operations Research or a related field is required
• Training and experience in applied financial modeling and research
• Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB or SAS and SQL
• Ability to communicate research results and investment theory to portfolio managers, analysts, and clients
• Familiarity with vendors such as Factset, Reuters, Compustat, IBES, and/or multi-factor modeling is preferred
• Experience and comfort level using UNIX or LINUX operating systems
• Familiarity of Principles in Portfolio construction and risk management within Equity Asset class.
