Job Description: The Education Abroad Advisor, who reports to the Assistant Director of Education Abroad, will represent The Office of International Affairs at meetings and events. Recruit East Carolina University students to participate in its many programs of education abroad. Develop, establish and administer programs for internship and teacher education exchange abroad. Assist in advising and corresponding with students, faculty and parents about education abroad programs and opportunities. Develop promotional and informational materials, both print and electronic. Assist with the receiving and processing of applications from East Carolina University students and exchange students abroad. Work with departments across campus to further participation in education abroad. Arrange class registration for international exchange students and transfer of credit for US ECU students.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned master's degree from an appropriately accredited institution; experience with education-abroad programs, particularly international student swap programs; experience living abroad, preferably as an exchange student; relevant administrative experience; excellent organizational and communication skills (speaking, writing and editing); intercultural sensitivity and understanding.
